Appointed new director of the Directorate for Security of Classified Information

On January 20, 2015 the Government of the Republic of Macedonia brought the Decision on Appointing a Director of the Directorate for Security of Classified Information (no. 24-640/1 dated January 20, 2015).
Information about the changed address of the Directorate
November 2012
Based on the notification of the authorities of the City of Skopje, in line with the law on the names of the streets, squares, bridges and other infrastructural objects, as of November 29, 2012 the address of the Directorate for Security of Classified Information is “Vasko Karangeleski” 8, (“Goce Delchev” Barracks) 1000 Skopje. The other contact data remain unchanged.
Participation in the interagency working group on CIRT in the Republic of Macedonia

Upon decision of the Government of the Republic of Macedonia, an interagency working group for preparation of an action plan for establishing the National Computer Incident Response Team (CIRT) in the Republic of Macedonia. The Directorate for Security of Classified Information is actively involved in the working group with two representatives who provide expert advice in the field of protection of classified information in the communication and information systems.
First meeting of the SEENSA Thematic Working Group for Training (SEENSA ТWG T)

The first meeting of the South Eastern Europe National Security Authorities Thematic Working Group for Training (SEENSA ТWG T), chaired by the Directorate for Security of Classified Information, was held on 12 September 2012 in Sofia, Bulgaria, as a back-to-back activity with the international conference on “The Good Practice in the Protection of Classified Information – Achievements and Difficulties” with which the Bulgarian service celebrated its 10th year anniversary.
At the TWG T meeting the results of the accomplished work were presented and the following activities were agreed in the direction of preparing the working materials for the next SEENSA conference to be held in May 2013 in Tirana, Albania.

Based on the notification of the authorities of the City of Skopje, in line with the law on the names of the streets, squares, bridges and other infrastructural objects, the organs of the state administration which until now have been numerated with letters (bb), have received new numeration. Hence, as of March 15, 2012, the address of the Directorate for Security of Classified Information is “Angel Dimovski” 8 ("Goce Delchev" Barracks), 1000 Skopje. The other contact data remain unchanged.
Meeting between the Republic of Macedonia and the NATO Political and Partnership Committee on PARP 2011

On June 14, 2011 the meeting between the Republic of Macedonia and the NATO Political and Partnership Committee on the Planning and Review Process 2011 was held in the NATO HQ in Brussels. This meeting finalized the 12th cycle of the preparations of the Republic of Macedonia for NATO membership.
At the meeting, attended by the Director of the Directorate for Security of Classified Information, it was assessed that the PARP document has been well prepared and that it gave a clear picture of the progress achieved by the country. Soon the final written report on the progress achieved by the Republic of Macedonia during its preparations for NATO membership is expected to be officially forwarded to the country. It will be one of the basics on which the activities of the 13th cycle of the preparations of the Republic of Macedonia for NATO membership will be founded.
Change of the status of the employees of the Directorate

As a result of the passing of the Law on Amendments to the Law on Classified Information (“Official Gazette of the Republic of Macedonia“, no. 145/2010) the status of the employees of the Directorate for Security of Classified Information has changed from persons with specific duties and authorizations into civil servants.

On October 27, 2010 with the decree law by the President of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Gjorge Ivanov, the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia passed the Law on Amendment to the Law on Classified Information. The Law is published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Macedonia no. 145 dated November 5, 2010.

Within the concluding activities for passing the Law on Amendment to the Law on Classified Information, the draft-law has passed the first reading in parliamentary procedure.

Activities are underway to pass the Law on Amendments to the Law on Classified Information. The amendments concern Article 67 related to the status of the employees at the Directorate, in order to harmonize it with the Law on Civil Servants. The Draft-Law on Amendments to the Law on Classified Information has passed through the Government procedure. Now follows the parliamentary procedure for passing the Law on Amendments to the Law on Classified Information.
