Stojan Slaveski, Ph.D.


He was born July 22, 1963, in Veles, Republic of North Macedonia. After attending both the military school in Serbia and the military academy in Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia, Mr. Slaveski began his army career in the Yugoslav People’s Army, and after Macedonia proclaimed independence, he became a member of the Army of the Republic of Macedonia. With the rank of a lieutenant colonel he left the Macedonian Army in 2008 and became a university professor.

During his professional career Mr. Slaveski has completed many international courses and programs, and as a professor he is regularly invited to give lectures at educational institutions in the country and at summer schools and campuses abroad. He actively participates in research projects related to the national politics, security sector reforms, regional security, and issues related to international organizations and the emergence of new norms in the international relations, with an emphasis on the South Eastern European countries. He is also active in the work of the non-governmental sector and is one of the founders of the Macedonian Alumni Association for graduates of the European Center for Security Studies in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany.

Mr. Slaveski has published a number of books and has a solid record of publications in professional journals, books and newspapers. His work has been published in Macedonian, Serbian, Albanian and English.

He speaks English, he is married and has one daughter.
