Ljubljana, 28 April– 3 July 2015
In the period between April 28 and July 3, 2015, a representative from the Directorate for Security of Classified Information (National Security Authority of the Republic of Macedonia), attended a 10 week training program in the Government Office for the Protection of Classified Information of the Republic of Slovenia, supported by the European Fund for the Balkans. During the training period he studied the Slovene, but also the EU and NATO legal framework regulating the protection of classified information.
He participated in all working activities organized and chaired by the Office as well as in other sessions in which the Office has been involved, including the expert conference entitled: “Dillemas and challenges of using drones and their normative regulation“, held in the National Parliament and organized by the Institute for Corporate Security. He gained experience about the process of handling classified information in Slovenia by following presentations in the General Secretariat of the Government, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Defence. He also attended a practical inspection which was conducted by the Inspectorate of the Ministry of Interior. For the purpose of better implemention of the NSA Cloud project and the NSA Forum, he took part in the preparation of the English user manuals. Attending a basic training program in the field of classified information and studying the distance learning version of the mentioned programs have also been a part of his trainership. Aside from the regular training schedule, he attended and successfully completed 40 classes of Slovene language course.
As a result, at the end of the internship period, the Slovene hosts and mentor have recognized that the program’s objectives have been achieved and that the DSCI representative’s engagement in the Government Office for the Protection of Classified Information of the Republic of Slovenia has contributed to faster realization of the specific projects that are managed and coordinated by the Office.
