Which procedure is applied when foreign citizens need access to the national classified information of the Republic Macedonia?

 

According to the Law on Classified Information, when foreign citizens need access to the national classified information of the Republic of Macedonia, they are granted an Access Permit to the national classified information.

In order for the Access Permit to the national classified information to be granted, the following conditions need to be met:

  • The relevant institution, to whose classified information access is requested, needs to submit a request to the Directorate for Security of Classified Information (DSCI) to issue Access Permits to the national classified information.
  • The request should stipulate the reason why such Access Permits are requested, the classification level of the information that access is requested to, the duration of the access to the classified information, identification documents (passports), as well as the security clearance certificates for the foreign citizens with the appropriate classification level, issued by the competent authority of the foreign country to which they belong.
  • There should be a bilateral agreement on protection of classified information in force between the Republic of Macedonia and the foreign country that the foreign citizens requesting access to the national classified information belong to.
